For too long the only popular for its beaches peninsula, Thailand wished to draw tourists to the northern provinces rich in archaeological remains, by playing the card of the cultural tour.

The northern provinces offer tourists including:

The temple with three towers. The Prang Sam Yot Lopburi is a fine example of Khmer art of the twelfth century.

The palace of Ayuthia. The rehabilitated Bang pa-in the nineteenth century by Rama IV, was his vacation home.

The sanctuary of Chiangmai. Built in 1345, Wat Phra Sing housed the ashes of the great King Kham Fu.

The temple of Phimai. The Khmer temple was built in the late eleventh century.

Tourism is very important and one of them is included surgery, including Bumrungrad Hospital. Bangkok wants to become one of the strongholds of Asia, mainly with the new Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened in September 2006. It would have made Bangkok the center of Southeast Asia had he not been very poorly constructed, with particular problems drainage6.

A large Chinese community (300,000 people) holds the reins of the economy of the city and the country itself. Many Thai companies are run by the Chinese. Thus the Chinese New Year is a de facto public holiday in many companies in Thailand.

Bangkok has two reputations. First night life with bars and "go-go girls" while the other attraction is the floating markets where small boats teak serve both as a means of locomotion and stall. These are generally women, wearing a straw hat for sun protection, which sell products of the hinterland to buyers who flock.
